Opera: Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" at the "Theater Freiburg" (Germany)

I recently saw Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" ("The Magic Flute") at the "Theater Freiburg". It was a really good representation of the opera and I enjoyed it a lot.

Here are some impressions from my night out at the opera:

Pastry Tour: "Café Sprüngli" Zurich (Switzerland)

Some weeks ago, I tried out "Café Sprüngli" in Zurich (Switzerland) and liked it a lot. The pastries I tried ("tartelette Saint-Honoré" and "Himbeertörtli") were great and I loved the interior: turn-of-the-century flair paired with a touch of alpine charm. Rating: Four stars out of five.

Two of my Ladurée Favourites

I love anything Ladurée, but I do have my preferences. And here are two of my favourite boxes which I brought back from my last visit at Ladurée:

At the 13th International Congress for Eighteenth Century Studies in Graz (Austria)

Last summer, I attended the 13th International Congress for Eighteenth Century Studies. This event, which only takes place every four years, was held from the 25th to the 29th of July 2011 at the University of Graz (Austria). Its main subjects were "Time in the Age of Enlightenment: Situating the Present, Imagining the Future" and "Central and Eastern Europe in the Age of Enlightenment".

Pastry Tour: "Theater Café" Lindau (Germany)

Welcome to a new feature on this blog: "PASTRY TOURS". I'm addicted to tea, and I love "thé gourmand", i. e. having my afternoon tea with a few small pastries. So the idea of regular "pastry tours" emerged.
Some weeks ago, I tried out the "Theater Café" in Lindau, Germany: I loved their chocolate truffles, and the petit four I had there was also great. As the location - cozy and comfortable - is nice, too, I give it a four-star-rating out of five.

Cookies of the Day: "Spitzbuben" from the Swiss Supermarket

My trip to a Swiss supermarket yielded this result: my cookie-favourites for today are the so-called "Spitzbuben", also called "coquins" or "discoletti".

Coup de Coeur of the Week: Ladurée Zurich

A place not to be missed when in Zurich:
Ladurée, situated at 17 Kuttelgasse.

Here a view of the boutique's fabulous shop window.
Of course, I - a great fan of Ladurée's - did not miss the opportunity to buy lots of delicious macarons.
One of those macarons was eaten in front of Zurich's Romanesque-style church, the Grossmünster.
I highly recommend Ladurée's raspberry-flavoured macarons ("macarons framboise").

Halloween Follow-Up

Last night, I watched "Psycho" on television and I loved the Bates Mansion. That's why I had to take this screen capture of it:
